How long to you hold on to your smartphones?

Americans are holding onto devices longer, with the average smartphone kept for 29 months, up from 22 months in 2016, driven by rising prices and sustainability concerns, finds a survey by Reviews.org. Cassandra Cummings, CEO of electronics design firm Thomas Instrumentation, suggests that modular and repairable device designs can further increase longevity, reducing the need for frequent full replacements and supporting a shift away from a throwaway culture.
