AT&T opens Connected Learning Center with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta

AT&T continues its commitment to giving back.


AT&T is opening a new Connected Learning Center inside the Joseph B. Whitehead branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) to provide free access to digital resources, including high-speed AT&T Fiber internet, Wi-Fi and Dell Technologies computers. As part of this celebration, AT&T will also distribute 250 free laptops and backpacks to students and families served by BGCMA.

Venessa Harrison – President, AT&T Southeast Coastal States

David Jernigan – Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta

Donnie Beamer – Senior Technology Advisor, City of Atlanta

Jason Winston – Atlanta City Council, District 1


This new center is part of the AT&T Connected Learning® initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption.


We’re committed to advancing education, creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and improving lives. As part of our companywide commitment to address the digital divide, we launched AT&T Connected Learning® to invest in connectivity and technology, digital literacy, and education solutions to help today’s learners succeed inside and outside of the classroom. Since 2008 we’ve committed to programs that help millions of students across all 50 states, Washington D.C and around the world, particularly those in underserved communities.


As part of their commitment to digital inclusion, Dell Technologies has donated Dell OptiPlex computers with integrated audio and webcams. World Wide Technology, a leading minority supplier of IT services, is handling configuration and installation.

We are proud to collaborate with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta to open a new AT&T Connected Learning Center at the Joseph B. Whitehead Boys & Girls Club,” said Venessa Harrison, President, AT&T Southeast Coastal States. “This Connected Learning Center is a dedicated safe space where Atlanta youth can access the online technology they need to thrive. By offering access to high-speed internet, technology devices and digital learning resources, we are empowering Atlanta youth and helping build bright futures.”



This center will be open to local Atlanta youth and families served by the Whitehead Boys & Girls Club and is the fourth AT&T Connected Learning Center in Atlanta and the sixth in the state of Georgia. It will also provide free educational resources and mentoring.
