Pantone names Classic Blue as its color of the year for 2020

Pantone Color Institute has named Classic Blue as its color of the year for 2020.

The color offers stability and connection, said the vice president of the international sellers of color, Laurie Pressman. And who doesn't like the color blue?

“It’s a reassuring presence,” Pressman told The Associated Press in an interview.

Classic Blue creates a feeling of great space, Pressman said. This color of blue is officially known as Pantone 19-4052.

Another blue color, Cerulean, was chosen for 2000. That was the first time Pantone announced a color for the year ahead. Cerulean is the color of the sky during the day. Classic Blue is the color of the sky just as the day ends.
