Broomstick League coming to Steam Early Access

High flying battles by brooms between wizards in hardcore, teleporting and trick shot scoring action. Blue Isle Studios in partnership with Virtual Basement recently announced plans to release a new fantastical competitive sports coming soon to Steam Early Access. Soon players will be able to take to the skies and compete against other wizards in Broomstick League.

Broomstick League invites players to divide into teams and zoom across massive arenas by broomsticks in an effort to grab and score the magical orb. Players can compete against friends online and use a combination of fast reflexes, teammate assists and magical spells in an effort to score in one of two goals on their opponents. The larger net is worth one point and the smaller net is worth two points, choose your approach and strategy on which one to score on. The main spells consists of Blast to knock the ball out of your opponent’s hands or Blink in order to teleport into position.

“Broomstick is the result of many years of iteration and tweaking and we are nearly there,” said Alex Tintor, Founder of Blue Isles Studios. “We are still pushing hard to improve and perfect the game. We have had a lot of fun designing these worlds for players to enjoy, they serve as a great backdrop for the fast-paced action.”

Broomstick League Gameplay Features:

Fast Paced Matches: Play 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 with friends or matchmake online with opponents from around the world.

Reflexive and Fantastical Gameplay: Pick up speed while dive bombing to fly past a defender, cast a spell on your opponent to blast the ball away and teleport to a more favorable position.

Character Customization: Personalize the look of your witch or wizard with a variety of new broomsticks, wands and perform a variety of taunts and dance moves to rattle your opponents

Mystical Arenas: Soar through fantastical arenas with giant trolls lurking in the background or score while floating on the back of massive flying creatures.

“Broomstick League is a deceptively simple game,” states Tintor. “At its core, the game is quite simple, but, from that simplicity comes a ton of depth and nuance and that is what we are most excited about. There is so much that players can do with our movement mechanics and physics in the game, and we can’t wait to see what else players will come up with.”
