High tech cabins actually provide relief from our tech-crazy lives
The noise created by our cities, technology and work begin to take a toll and at times we need to find rest and relaxation, we need to get away from it to unplug from it all. Getaway creates mindful escapes to tiny cabins nestled within nature throughout areas across the United States. They invite guests to reset in tiny cabins or Outposts that offer all of the comforts of home to recharge and focusing on what matters most. Getaway Chattahoochee is the company’s first Georgia location that opened up in the spring of 2019. The Outpost set in Suches, GA is in the scenic North Georgia mountains featuring 21 custom-built tiny cabins rentable by the night and tucked away in a quiet, 57-acre forest landscape.
The cabins are available in two-person and four-person units with each one outfitted with only the things that guests need and nothing they do not. It includes essentials such as queen-sized beds, comfy pillows and crisp linens, a kitchenette with cooking basics and a private bathroom complete with a toilet, shower, hot water, fresh towels, and biodegradable shampoo, conditioner and body wash. In order to assist guests with staying disconnected, all cabins are free of Wi-Fi and house a mini-library filled with books, board games and guides to analog activities; stargazing, sudoku, etc.
A nod to the simplicity of the surrounding landscape, the 140 to 200-square-foot cabins are made with natural building materials like Eastern White Pine, metal and glass, and feature expansive windows that flood the cabin with sunlight. The area also offers a cozy outdoor area with a picnic table, provisions for purchase, Adirondack chairs, fire-pit and campfire grate with the option to purchase firewood and a cell phone lockbox. In addition, Getaway offers 24/7 text, call or in-person service and guest care, so visitors can fully commit to disconnecting.
