Kids and the high volume kicked out by most standard headphones don't mix.
With the proliferation of smart phones, portable gaming systems and media players, more children – especially teenagers – are listening to headphones with high volume outputs. According to a Vanderbilt-led study published in Journal of the American Medical Association, hearing loss is now affecting 20 percent of U.S. adolescents ages 12 to 19, which is a 5 percent increase over the past 15 years. A separate study by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association found that teenagers typically listen to devices at a louder volume than adults and that these same teenagers already have symptoms of hearing loss.
Snuggly Rascals allows you to ditch the painful and plastic headphones for fleece covered flat speakers in a headband style wrap. The ultra-comfortable headphones have an 85-decibel limit to protect young ears and can be removed to wash the wrap. As for how they sounds, nothing is missing when it comes to quality, other than the ear-damaging high volume.
Snuggly Rascals was born from a desire to create fun and unique products for kids, sat the company in a press release.
We (the team) all have young families and wanted to create something our kids would love and hopefully other kids too. We’ve started Snuggly Rascals with a small range of characters, brought to life with a range of ultra-comfortable, cozy headphones.
Get every kid in the family their choice of Snuggly Rascals colors and designs.
They will "wire" into any device for safe listening. They work great indoors, perfectly outdoors and very well for travel in a car, plane or train.
The company is also big on giving back.
When we started Snuggly Rascals, we decided that we also wanted to give something back. Being parents ourselves, we could think of nothing better than to support Children’s charities. Unfortunately there’s not enough profit for us to donate a free headphone for every one sold (like a well known footwear brand does), but we’ve done the figures and we can give 10%, which we hope will still raise lots of money every month. For more details of the charities we work with or to make a donation, please visit our charity page.
There are a half-dozen different designs and at a cost of less than $20, this is a must have for the little ones in your home.
