Puerto Rico open for meeting and convention business, with dedicated website and social media

Meet Puerto Rico, the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) responsible for attracting groups and conventions to Puerto Rico, has kicked off 2018 with its first major convention with the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s (CHTA) Caribbean Travel Marketplace, held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center.

Attendees were business convention and incorporated meeting planners and were among the more than 1,052 attending global delegates.

“We are thrilled that we welcomed CHTA’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace in Puerto Rico as our first convention in 2018,” said Alma Pedrosa, acting president & CEO, CPA, CDME, Meet Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico needs tourists and is ready for companies and organizations to bring their meetings and events to the island.

Puerto Rico has everything it takes to host a large-scale convention, a state-of-the-art convention center, a wide variety of accommodations, fine restaurants and tons of things to do.

Meet Puerto Rico is a non-profit organization established in 1962 to drive meetings, conventions, trade shows and incentive groups to Puerto Rico. With offices in San Juan, Meet Puerto Rico strengthens Puerto Rico's competitive position in the Americas and abroad by increasing awareness of the Island's outstanding meeting facilities and services, and produces approximately $120 million to the local economy.
