OnCore ELIXR offers benefits to your golf game

noun: elixir; plural noun: elixirs

  1. a magical or medicinal potion.

While true golfers no that there is no magical elixir for their games, they know that certain products can offer benefits and enhancements that do help in the short and long runs.

A new golf ball from upstart OnCore Golf is one of these products.

I was given a sleeve of these balls back in January and they do as advertised.

Per OnCore Golf:

Bringing together a one-of-a-kind mix of advanced materials, the ELIXR™’s tri-phase constructed technology features original chemistry blends with added advanced material elements to deliver a unique combination of distance, spin, control and feel off the face of the club.

With an 85-compression rating and a 318-dimple pattern, the three-piece ELIXR™ combines a polybutadiene rubber core’s unique cross-linked polymer additives for exceptional ball speed; increased perimeter weighting due to a proprietary polymer mantle infused with high density particles for enhanced accuracy and control; and a cast urethane cover to deliver a soft and pure feel off the club face for ultimate greenside handling and durability.

"Feel" is a key word here as the ball delivers on touch and feel shots. Does distance and ball speed increase/ That to be determined with more testing. What I do know is OnCore Golf is high on these balls and taking away market segment from the "big boys." Nearly two-dozen Tour professionals across the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Tours who have played the product.

The ELIXR can be ordered here and at a pretty good price point.

Is this ball going to fix all the ills of your game? No, but it's going to help you in 2017 and beyond!
