Energy Expo on tap for Georgia Tech

Atlanta has rapidly become a hub for energy innovation and entrepreneurship and will be showing us just how with the upcoming Energy Expo. The Energy Expo is a conference and presentation showcase where energy researchers and industry experts across the country show off the latest technologies and innovations. The Georgia Tech Energy Club, in partnership with the Georgia Tech Strategic Energy Institute, will be hosting the Energy Expo. The 2017 Energy Expo will be taking place on Thursday and Friday February 9th and 10th at Georgia Tech.

The Energy Club seeks to inspire and prepare the next generation of individuals knowledgeable in the complex interaction energy-related world. The Georgia Tech Strategic Energy Institute integrates energy activities across the nation’s largest technology university - from generation to distribution to use. The two have come together to have researchers in the energy space present technology, policy, and business topics relevant to the Southeast’s energy space. The Energy Expo is open to the public and provides a multitude of opportunities for those attending the event. One can gain access to a broad cross-section of the state, regional and national energy communities. Participants network with other companies, talented personnel and promising start-ups as well as promote their company and their efforts to like-minded stakeholders and conference attendees. They can also develop new contacts and networks while renewing and strengthening current partnerships and connect with the world’s largest professional association for energy.

The Energy Expo is open to the public and requires registration for events which include hearing keynote speakers, attending panel discussions, viewing a poster and demonstration session and a networking reception. Thursday February 9th it will take place at the Clary Theatre in the Georgia Tech Bill Moore Student Success Center and runs from 3:45 to 7:00 P.M. The Expo kicks off with a screening of the documentary Before the Flood, followed by a panel discussion on Forecasting Climate Change's Impact on Energy, Sustainability, and Equity. The panel will be followed by an informal networking reception. Friday February 10th will take place at the 3rd Floor Ballroom in the Georgia Tech Student Center runs from 8:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. The full day of the Expo includes a keynote addresses from Dr. Cheryl Martin (World Economic Forum) and three panel sessions: Integrating Renewables with Energy Storage Technologies; Assessing Biofuels for Sustainable Development; and, Where Are We Headed: Technology, Economics, and Policy.
