Winix HR1000 Air Purifier is a 'smart' option for your home
Quite possibly, the most underrated gadget in your home, if you even have one, is an air purifier. While an air purifier might site by itself, out of the way, it's sometimes forgotten, but it remains an important member of the household. Winix America is trying to get the word out that its line of products are not only easy to use, but necessary when it comes to health.
Growing awareness about various respiratory diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), caused due to air pollution is significantly increasing the demand for air purifiers in the country. The government as well as the private sector are organizing various awareness campaigns as a part of an effort to reduce air pollution and ensure safe indoor environment, which is expected to boost sales of air purifier units across all segments in the country.
According to recently published report by TechSci Research "United States Air Purifier Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2019", the air purifier market in the United States is projected to register a CAGR of around 9% during 2014-19. It's great to see healthcare and hospitality sectors emerging as key target segments, but Winix thinks it all starts in the home.
Winix has the first "smart" air purifier, but don't be put off by the word "smart" in this case as it's easy to set up and use.
The first thing one will notice about the Winix HR1000 Air Purifier out of the box is not the advanced air cleaning technology or modern sleek design, you will notice how well packed it came and instruction booklets letting you know this is more than just your average home air purifier.
The Winix smart air purifier can be used in any area of the home, but it might be best placed in an area where family members congregate on a regular basis. This powerhouse features a 5-Stage air purification system with Washable Pre-Filter, Coated Deodorization (CD) Carbon Filter, Anti-microbial True HEPA Filter and WINIX PlasmaWave® Technology. Maybe the most unique feature is the HR1000 is equipped with Wi-Fi, much like a Wi-Fi printer and can be controlled with the Winix SMART app.
Make no mistake, this is not a gimmick household product. This is an elite home tech product. It's eco-friendly, Wi-Fi enabled and UL listed and certified. It's also quiet and runs fine on your own, but the "smart' comes in as you can control how it covers your 400 square foot room.
How about the results.... here is a recent Amazon review....
I noticed right away when unboxing that this is a well built filter. Everything has a very nice sung fit and is not your typical China made stuff here. Maybe because it is made in Korea? Anyways setup was very easy by just removing the tape that holds the front cover on and removing protective plastic for the filters. Plug in and turn on and start enjoying it. The unit is very quiet on all speeds except for Turbo and that is for quick air cleaning. This unit is very sleek and I have no problem with it being in my living room for all to see.
The Winix SMART app is the true game changer. After a setup/pairing that takes a minute, it gives the ability to turn on/ off, change fan speeds, and set schedule for use. Users will be able to control the unit from anywhere as it works over 3G, LTE, and Wi-Fi. You will also be able to see real-time air quality information with the touch of a button. It also will let you know how your filters are performing and send you an alert or notification when a change or malfunction occurs. As part of the new 1.0.4 app update, local weather updates are now offered and taken into consideration.
With an active dog and doors opening and closing all the time, I can speak to how well the HR1000 works, but Amazon is also loaded with reviews singing the praises of this mini appliance.
It does work very well and also is helping to keep dust level's lower in my home. I can tell when dust level's are higher just by looking at the color of the bar in the front of the unit.
The unit is easy to operate. There are auto, sleep, and manual modes. The fan settings range from low to turbo. The auto mode adjusts fan speed based on the air quality. There’s also a child lock feature, a timer (1 hour, 4 hours, and 8 hours or on all the time), and a PlasmaWave button that can be enabled to remove harmful airborne contaminants.
It’s a very quiet machine. It also has little notifications when you turn it on or change settings. It’s very subtle and low. Winix really thought of everything.
As large and efficient it is, the filter consumes only 90 Watts of electricity, which is comparable to an incandescent light bulb. One final but equally important observation: this Winix HR1000 filter is extremely quiet, especially when in a low or medium mode. I am fairly allergic to cats and dogs. Since we started using this cleaner, I have noticed a significantly smaller number of times when I felt like I had to sneeze or scratch my nose.
If you need an air purifier that works and are on board with the whole "connected home" theme as part of your life, this is the purifier for you and your family. Winix has thought of every detail, right down to the carrying handle, so you can move the unit from room to room.
As with most products featured on WirelessWednesday.live, the Winix HR1000 is a great deal on Amazon here.
