Omni William Penn Hotel marks 100 years

With 597 splendid rooms and over 50,000 square feet of meeting and entertaining space, the Omni William Penn Hotel in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh is celebrating 100 years by providing the guests of today with all the modern amenities and technology they need. The "Grande Dame" as the landmark hotel is known, has hosted thousands of weddings and proposals, along with entertainers and sports teams, plus U.S. Presidents. John F. Kennedy stayed at the Omni William Penn while he was visiting Pittsburgh. This is a year-long celebration, and one that Omni Hotels and Resorts want you to participate in as a valued guest. On March 9-11, 2016, a three-day party included a birthday cake, a fashion show and a food tasting occurred drawing in guests, media and VIPs from Pittsburgh and beyond. The celebration continues throughout 2016, so make your reservation. Guest rooms and suites are laid out perfectly and business travelers will appreciate the larger than average desks with easy access to electrical outlets. This is important as the average person now has over two devices to charge up each night. Suites will remind many of an apartment with extra rooms to go along with plenty of chairs and sofas. The Omni William Penn is also a leading hotel when it comes to being ADA compliant. Hotel guests have options of rooms with a roll-in shower and a sink and toilet no higher than 29” from the floor, or the standard shower with a tub.

As stated in the hotel’s history booklet, A Grande Dame Named William Penn, “while all hotels are interesting places, a grand hotel is a collection of lore and legend.” Take part in the celebration and send personal photos and anecdotes of the Omni William Penn Hotel to #williampenncentennial or williampenn100@omnihotels.com.

Located in the "Heart of Downtown Pittsburgh," the Omni William Penn is ready for you on your next visit.
